It's simple, they creep on you when you least expect it. Then you freak the hell out for a few seconds before realizing what it is.

I have those in my house all the time. They're so awkward and retarded it kind of takes away all the creepiness. Every time I see one, I'm just like, 'You're ridiculous. *squish*'
